The board  of CEFIN consists of Stephan Follender and Dirk van Vuuren. Stephan Follender worked previously at MeesPierson and the Amsterdam Stock Exchange (AEX). Dirk van Vuuren was employed by Dow Chemical, Eneco and Enron.

Together, Dirk and Stephan founded and developed the Energy Exchange, European Energy Derivatives Exchange ENDEX. The activities of ENDEX can be summarized with the following keywords: central market, trading, clearing, price index, risk management, electricity, natural gas, biomass, financial and energy regulation.

This exchange  was a regulating element in the energy market which was liberalized in 1999. Endex, with a traded value in energy contracts of over 30 billion euros, played  a crucial role in the Dutch energy infrastructure. Therefore, in 2008 the Dutch government, through the Dutch Gasunie and TenneT, took over Endex. The Energy Exchange now operates under the new name APX-ENDEX. After the acquisition, Dirk and Stephan  decided it was time for something new and so in 2009 they set up CEFIN B.V.

CEFIN’s  directors, in addition to covering the substantive aspects of  energy and finance, together cover all facets of modern business: corporate governance, finance & accounting, human resources, legal & regulatory, marketing & sales, risk, operations and research & development.

Both directors have an excellent (inter) national network with the various authorities, the energy industry and financial market players. References are available from all these sectors.
